Business Agility in Canadian Organizations

Today’s enterprises operate in an unstable and constantly changing economic environment. Market turbulences of the past years still translate into constantly changing conditions today. Additionally, the never ending fluctuation of various indicators, of an increasingly integrated worldwide economy, creates situations that widely affect enterprises. To stay competitive in this market in flux, enterprises must be able to react quickly and efficiently.

During the spring of 2009, The Economist Intelligence Unit issued a study where close to 350 executives throughout the world were interviewed, inquiring about the different pressuring forces challenging their organizations and how they intended to react. Essentially, the study covered three different topics:

  • Data was collected on the most important market initiative that organizations had to face.
  • It explored the necessity for organizations to develop or maintain their agility if they wanted to emerge as a visible leader given the current market conditions.
  • How various technologies could contribute to support or enable organizational changes when increasing corporate agility.

Inspired by this study, West Monroe Partners is actually conducting a similar survey within the Canadian Business community.  The results of this study will prepare Canadian executives to proactively and effectively transforn their business, measure results and compare visions with competitiors. To make this a reality, West Monroe Partners will publish the results of the study in its next newsletter while making it available to various professional associations.

To offer added-value to those who contributed, West Monroe Partners will provide each participant with a personalized report, benchmarking their organization respectively to both Canadian and International markets. Additionally, a report on their enterprise consistency and alignment will be made available to each organization with more than one respondent.
